I am a married mother of two children, resident in the South of France. I grew up in South Africa and later moved to the UK to finish my education where I gained a BA Hons degree in Psychology from Sussex University and went on to obtain my teacher qualification.

It was whilst teaching in tertiary education that I undertook my counselling studies. After relocating to France, I continued to work in an educational environment initially offering counselling support and in latter years moved into the private sector providing counselling to adults and adolescents.

I am a great believer in continual professional development and have added to my person centred training, several specialist areas including Advanced Diploma in Special Educational needs , Somatic therapy training, Trauma informed therapy, Bereavement and loss, Disordered eating, Self- harm, DMOKA (EMDR), working with Sexualized trauma and Internal Family Systems .

Each client is unique and brings something different to the counselling relationship. I like to employ an eclectic approach and tailor sessions to the individual. Whether short term intervention is required or more long term support, creating a safe space is key to allowing the client to explore thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. I will accompany the client offering empathy and confidentiality.

In a climate of unconditional positive regard , given without judgement, a person may find clarification of their feelings and an inner strength and resolve , previously hidden.

Understanding and insight may be gained in the space where Counsellor and Client can together contemplate.

I am a member of the British association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical framework for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I have professional indemnity insurance and have regular clinical supervision.
